Quin Cotton, der im vergangenen Jahr in den Niederlanden für UVV Utrecht spielte und zuvor für die double AA Mannschaft der Cincinnati Reds aktiv war, wird das Team mit seiner Erfahrung und beeindruckenden Leistung verstärken.
Mit herausragenden Leistungen in der niederländischen Liga konnte Quin Cotton nicht nur durch seine beeindruckenden Zahlen überzeugen, sondern hinterließ auch einen bleibenden Eindruck im Testspiel gegen die Hamburg Stealers im März 2023. Coach Wohlgemuth erinnert sich an diesen Moment und teilt seine Begeisterung für den Neuzugang: „Da ist Quin mir sofort aufgefallen. Man sieht, dass Quin professionellen Baseball gespielt hat. Ich freue mich riesig, dass er dieses Jahr für uns spielt. Wir bekommen einen sehr starken Hitter, guten Baserunner und vor allem einen richtig guten Typen nach Hamburg.“

What is your goal with the Hamburg Stealers?
My goal is to help teach and grow the game of baseball, assisting players on the first team and the youth teams in becoming the best ball players they can be. It is also my objective to win games and bring the trophy home to Hamburg.
Why did you choose the Stealers?
I chose the Stealers because it’s evident that they want to win and be a successful team. Our goals align, and they have an excellent staff and facility. I’ve heard great things about the city and the community in Hamburg and can’t wait to experience it for myself.
You’ve played for the Reds organization. Is the Reds your favorite team as well?
The Reds are NOT my favorite team; in fact, I don’t really have one. If I had to pick a team to root for, it would be the Toronto Blue Jays.
How was your experience in Holland last year?
My time in Holland was very enjoyable and rewarding. It was my first summer outside the States, and I was thrilled to make new friends and explore new places while playing the game I love. I believe it’s crucial to see new parts of the world, and I’m very fortunate to continue doing that.
What can Stealers fans expect when you play at the Jackie Robinson BallPark this season?
Stealers fans can expect me to set an example with how I play and carry myself. I can impact the game on offense, defense, or on the bases; I play hard, and I play to win. I also like to have fun on the field and bring a unique style to my game.
